New title from Smokehouse Press

This delightfully illustrated children’s picture book has been published to raise much-needed funds for Caistor Roman Project’s work in excavating and discovering more about the Roman town of Venta Icenorum. Visitors to Caistor St Edmonds, a few miles outside the city of Norwich, will be amazed at the extent of the town and just how much is still visible today..

The book was ‘dreamed into being’ by the late Lynn Catchpole, who watched the mischievous labrador puppy, Doug, trying to ‘help’ the archeologists’ work during recent summer excavations. Doug’s mistakes and adventures, and his eventual triumphant success will delight children and the adults who share the story with them.
